The Itinerary

07:00 am: Start your day with a pickup from your Nairobi hotel or residence and drive to Nanyuki, the capital of Laikipia County. Nanyuki is a key base for Mount Kenya climbers, a supply center for local farms, and a hub for nearby ranches and game parks.

10:30 am: Upon reaching Nanyuki, continue your drive to the Sirimon Gate at Mount Kenya, located 23 km from Nanyuki at an elevation of 2,650 meters. After completing the park entry formalities, embark on a 3½ hour (9 km) hike through diverse zones, including forest, bamboo, rosewood, and heather, leading you to Old Moses Camp at 3,300 meters. This ascent allows you to acclimatize and explore the rich wildlife and bird species in the area.

13:30 pm: Hike a short distance to 3,600 meters for a stunning view of Mount Kenya’s Nelion and Batian peaks, which are only accessible to professional alpinists. Capture the breathtaking scenery before heading back to Old Moses Camp for a picnic lunch.

15:00 pm: After lunch, descend 9 km (1.5 hours) back to the Sirimon Gate. Meet your driver guide and begin your journey back to Nairobi.

19:00 pm: Arrive back in Nairobi and transfer to your hotel or residence.
