Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Adventure in Maasai Mara

The evening before your flight, one of our drivers will visit your lodge to finalize the morning collection time and answer any questions you might have about what to wear and what to bring.

Departure:
Your adventure begins before dawn, with pickup from your lodge by one of our drivers in a 4×4 safari vehicle, usually between 4:30 am and 5:00 am.

Briefing and Inflation:
At the launch site, a pre-flight security check is conducted, in line with international standards. The pilot will provide a safety briefing either before or after you climb into the basket, covering essential safety and landing procedures.

Takeoff and Flight:
You’ll be seated in the basket as the balloon is inflated. Once the balloon is upright and safe for flight, you’ll be invited to stand and enjoy the adventure as it begins. Glide gently over the Maasai Mara's vast plains, taking in the breathtaking silence and the incredible beauty of the landscape. The flight, which lasts about an hour, will take you drifting with the wind at varying heights.

Celebration and Breakfast:
After landing, remain in the basket while the pilot deflates the balloon and the ground crew packs it away. Celebrate your return to earth with a traditional balloon flight breakfast in the bush, complete with sparkling wine. Afterward, your lodge drivers will collect you and return you to your lodge, hotel, or camp, often with a game drive included.
